Autumn Budget 2025: Reeves announces full funding for SMEs' under-25 apprenticeships

In today’s Budget (26th November), Chancellor Rachel Reeves unveiled plans to fully fund SME apprenticeships for under-25s.

The government is making more than £1.5bn available over the Spending Review period for investment in employment and skills support.

This funds £820m for the Youth Guarantee, which includes offering a guaranteed six-month paid work placement to every eligible 18- to 21-year-old who has been on Universal Credit and looking for work for 18 months.

It also includes £725m for the Growth and Skills Levy to help support apprenticeships for young people, including a change to fully fund SME apprenticeships for eligible people under 25.
